Edgar Zayago Lau holds an appointment as professor at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas. He received an M.A. in International Development Studies at Saint Mary’s University (2005) and a Ph.D. in Development Studies at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (2009).
Edgar Zayago, since 2007, is a researcher of the Latin American Nanotechnology & Society Netrwork (ReLANS) headquartered in Zacatecas, Mexico. In 2008, he was an invited research scholar by the Nanoforum European Union and Latin America (NanoforumEULA) at the Laboratory Mesa+, University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands. He has published several articles in scholarly journals such as Nanotechnology Law & Business Journal, NanoMagazine, Nanoworld, Estudios Sociales and some others. He has also been author and co-author of several chapters in books such as Nanotechnologies in Latin America (Rosa-Luxemburgo, 2008) and Las nanotecnologías en la alimentación y en la agricultura (Universidad de la República, 2008). He has delivered presentations in several Mexican and foreign universities. He is member of the National System of Researchers of CONACYT Tier II and member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences.
He is currently looking at the implications of nanotechnology to society and development and development theory/policy nexus.
